🛒 Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup carrots, chopped
  • ½ cup peas
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup milk or half-and-half
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: shredded cheddar cheese for topping
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Brown the Beef
    In a large pot over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease if needed.
  2. Sauté the Base
    Add butter, onion, and garlic to the pot. Cook until softened and fragrant.
  3. Add Veggies & Broth
    Stir in potatoes, carrots, and beef broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes until potatoes are tender.
  4. Make It Creamy
    In a small bowl, whisk flour with milk, then stir into the soup. Let it simmer until slightly thickened.
  5. Finish It Off
    Add peas, thyme, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
  6. Serve & Enjoy
    Ladle into bowls and top with cheese and fresh parsley if desired.
